New cards for old decks...

Well I have bought some cards, the most important for my WG destroy land deck, they were suggested by Bairrin, a guy who has a nice blog about wargames, role games and magic. They were Mainly the knight of the reliquary and the terravore. I also bought a pair of Tangharth for my minotaur deck, some artifacts I wanted to have, and some green cards for decks I will create in the future... It has been a while since I dont create a new deck, I have some cards in mind, lets se.

I have bought the cards from MTGFanatics, they have changed the owners or the people in charge, but the cards had arrived in time and propperly.

Bueno, me compré unas cartas para mazos viejos y para futuros por armar. Seguí las sugerencias de bairrín (el loco que escribe el blog An Havva que es una pasada) y me compré cuatro terravoros y cuatro caballeros del relicario (pa el mazo verde blanco destruye tierras, o como le dijo bairrín el mazo bicho armagedon). Además me compré dos Tangharth para el mazo de minotauros que tengo, un par de artefactos que me gustaban para tener, y cartas para un futuro mazo verde.

Regarding the artifacts I love a lot of artifacts from the old times (tempest, Urza's Saga, that times), and every time I make a buylist, I add some of these artifacts....

Respecto de los artefactos, me gustan mucho los viejos artefactos, y cada vez que puedo compro alguno de esa época (Tempest, Saga de Urza, de ESA epoca).

Trashy White Weenie V1.1

Hace varios varios meses, había posteado un mazo blanco bastante Trash, con diversas cartas que había ido comprando y que tenía. Cuestión que seguí los consejos de Bairrin y otros lectores y terminé cambiado de este mazo a uno ligeramente diferente.

Lo había probado un par de veces en la anterior configuración y andaba lindo, ahora lo puse un poco más violento creo. Más WW que antes con los wrath of god. Me interesaría agregarle otro más y probablemente meter algunos congregar para volverlo más clásico todavía...

Several months ago I had posted a white deck list (very Trashy), created with many of the cards I had been buying or that I had previously had. I followed the advices of Bairrin and other readers and changed the list a little.

I had tried a couple of times the list in the previous configuration and it was good, now the decke had become a little more violent I think. I would be interested and will probably add another congregate, but I am not sure what I would be taking out...

Starting a deck from zero (MTG)//Armando mazos como el emo del magi...

I have been thinking there has been a while since I have started to build a deck, so I want to build a new one.
I want to make some deck but I dont have yet the idea, I guess it will be a tribal deck, but I have search Apes, Zombies, Skeletons, Berserkers, and there is not enough material to make a deck. Other idea I had is a clown deck, but there are no clowns as type and I dont remember many cards with clowns in the illustration...

I am open to any ideas if there are crazy ones...

For now I have this ideas in mind

• Beasts
• some how a Clown Deck
• a Deamon deck (but in our group we have another demons deck (@astraud)
• or a combo deck, but I am more a creature based player.

Le estuve dando vueltas a la idea de hacer un mazo de cero, hace banda que no hago uno, y quería sentir esa sensación de buscar cartas y mentalmente elegir cuales sí y cuales no. Como estamos en una época de rol, es la temporada ideal para construir mazos porque no nos apura nadie y para cuando vuelvan las épcoas de magi ya tendremos el mazo armadito.
Empecé con la idea de un mazo de Simios  (como yo)

hay lindos dibujos de simios pero no se puede construir algo decente con ellos. De igual forma miré Berserkers, Zombies y esqueletos. Lo que busco cuando armo un mazo tribal de este estilo es que haya sinergia, tipo todos los otros simios (como bernardo) suman +1 +1 cuando simean un thread. Después me puse triste porque por este lado no había cosas interesantes. Y se me ocurrió que podía hacer un mazo de payasos, busqué payasos y clowns en magiccardinfo y nada. Así que me puse más triste todavía y ya parecía el Emo de Capusotto:

Por último dije, no hay emo si no es social, así que a compartir mi tristeza por el mundo y armé este post. La realidad es que probablemente vaya por un mazo o de bestias o de demonios a menos que encuentre algo más interesante en las ideas de los lectores del blog.

White Weenie Trash o no tan trash

Bueno, agarré las cartas blancas y con ellas me armé un White Weenie. La idea era usar las cartas que tenía (y algunas que compre en Mtgfanatics). Lo probé contra un mazo de guille de vampiros y me pasó el trapo, así que estoy viendo si le voy a poner algo de platita encima. Primero la lista de cartas del mazo White Trash:

Well, I have taken all the white cards, and with them I have created a White Weenie. The idea is to use the cards I have (and some cards that I have bough in MtgFanatics). I have tested it against a vampire deck of Astraud and I suffered a lot. So may be I will be changing it in the future.

La idea de este mazo es básicamente poner lo mas rapido posible criaturas blancas berretonas que en numero lleguen a hacerle daño al jugador que está del otro lado de la mesa. Cartas que quiero agregar: 1 smite más, 2 soul warden mas, quiero meter 4 de estos locos con shadow que cuando atacan le dan +1+1 a las otras criaturas que controlo (el soltari champion). Probablemente saque a cara de barro (los soltario visionary) o los Apex. ¿Debería meter 4 Iras de Dios? Me gustaría escuchar vuestras opiniones de este mazo.

The idea is to strike quickly with this weak creatures until you win (or loose).I want to add one more smite, two more soul wardens, 4 soltari champions... I would take out the soltari viionary and the Apex Hawks. The question I have is: shoud I add four Wrath of God? What do you think?

Mini Minotaur Deck... Mazo de minotauros (todos odiamos a Teseo)

Una de las primeras cartas que recuerdo de cuando empecé a jugar Magic es esta:

Fijensé que en esta época se gastaban poniéndole unos épicos Flavor Texts:

• Los Minotauros de las montañas Hurloon son famosos por su amor a la guerra. También se los conoce por sus Himnos a los muertos, que dedican a amigos y enemigos por igual. Estos himnos pueden prolongarse durante días, llenando los valles con su sonido grave y obsesivo.

• Nota al pie: comparesé el anterior FT con el FT del Kragma Warcaller: Un llamaguerra sólo reúne al rebaño. Después, el hambre de carne es el único estímulo que necesitan.

Pay atention to the fact that during that times this cards had the following amazing flavor text:

• The Minotaurs of the Hurloon Mountains are known for their love of battle. They are also known for their hymns to the dead, sung for friend and foe alike. These hymns can last for days, filling the mountain valleys with their low, haunting sounds.
• Note: compare the last flavor text to the one from the Kragma Warcaller: A warcaller merely brings the herd together. After that, the meat-hunger is all the encouragement they need.

Something changed between this 4th ED and now, but this will be subject of another post...

Pero hasta hace un año era impensado hacerse un mazo de minotauros porque tenía pocas posibilidades de hacer algo interesante. Estaba esta carta que podía hacer las cosas más divertidas:

Some years ago, it was hard to think a minotaur deck, because it had little chances of doing something interesting. We had this card, which could  do interesting things, but no more...

Había también en esas épocas algún que otro minotauro loco, pero como que no había mucho para armar. Hasta que el año pasado salieron banda de minotauros, muchos de ellos muy interesantes para hacer mazos tribales. Así que fuí buscando diferentes cartitas para hacer un mazo de minotauros, inicialmente cuando lo pensaba hace un par de años era un mazo rojo, pero hoy por hoy ya la idea es otra: rojo y negro.Actualmente la última versión del mazo consta de las siguientes cartas (se escuchan sugerencias de todo tipo y color (rojo y negro preferencialmente)):

In hese times there also were any or other crazy minotaur, but there was nothing to build a deck with. El mazo hasta ahí, tengo intención de poner 4 chamanes de Anaba, pero primero quiero que ese Anaba BodyGuard vea una partida. Los Hurloon no se mueven del mazo, ya bastante que dejé dos. El resto, es conversable. El blightning lo puedo sacar, pero me gusta el dibujo.

The deck, is that, I want to put four anaba shaman, but first I want that the Anaba BodyGuard would see some fights. Both Hurloon minotaurs will remain, the rest is talkable except from the Blightning, whose drawinG I love much.

En el Mazo hay un par de combos interesantes, como el deadtouch + un punto de daño con el Anaba shaman, o el Boros Reckoner o el lord of Shatterskull Pass.

The deck has some interesting combos, as the deadtouch + a damage point with the Anaba Shaman, or the boros reckoner, or the Lord of Shatterskull Pass.
