Interview to the Zenit Miniatures (Kensei, Nemesis). Entrevista a los chicos de Zenit Miniatures (Kensei, Nemesis)

After the interview in spanish, you have the english version of it.
thanks.

Discos:

Saludos.

English Interview
Hello, good morning! Here is raining a lot since the midnight (almost 12 hours) and the city is an acuatic caos. The good things of living in a plain is that can be floodable... Luckily the water is not reaching to the second floor, so at least now and until the water doesnt reach the five meters I can keep typing (I am kidding, but its raining a lot and there are many watterlogged areas in the city).

  • Who are you? Who are Zenit Miniatures? When do you started this project? Where are you from?

Well Zenit Miniatures basicaly is composed of two guys: Daniel and Javier. We are from a little town of Malaga in the south of Spain. Daniel started with Zenit Miniatures, and after a while I joined Zenit specifically to work on the Kensei Project.

  • Wich games do you produce?

Our games are:

  • Nemesis: The first game of Zenit Miniatures Trademark. This is a skirmish miniature game set in a fantastic world called Mitter.

Nemesis miniature
  • Kensei: A game of Battles, small and big battles, set in a fantastic world inspired n the feudal Japan and the oriental mitology.
Kensei miniature

  • What strong poitns of your game will tempt or bring other wargamers?

We just tried to make the miniatures be of great quality in their modeling and production. Then try to give an option to play with something different from the usual.

  • The rules are free to download from your page (in fact I am reading them). Why did you choose to let them free (wich I really love, but not everyone does)?

We decided that the rules should be free because we thought that curious players should be able to access them freely. There are many games on the market and we believe that that our game has spread that system needed. So anyone can play it without having to spend 30-50 euros in a manual. In the future we will have an edited version of great quality, but this will remain available to all players for free.

  • How many miniatures have you finished?

Among Nemesis and Kensei, we have more than two hundreed...

  • As players, wich other wargames do you play?

So, we have played many games. From the first that we have played, we have: Hero Quest, and Space Hulk. Appart from that, as most of the players, we have played Warhammer, Infinity, Celtos, Impetus, Confrontation. Etc. Appart from that we love role games...

  • Where could we buy your miniatures (online stores)?

You might find them in our online store (http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/) where we send without problems to any part of the world.

  • The games, wich is the percentage of miniatures wich are finished?

Really I couldn give you a percentage because we are continually releasing new factions or new special miniatures or elite, wich although they are not now included, they will be added in the future. We have many ideas, so it will be Kensei and Nemesis for a long time...

We think that it is great the ammount of great quality miniature games wich are being produced here in Spain. This shows that the hobby is alive and there is people with good and great ideas. The thruth is that we are good pals among us, though with some of the people we dont know face to face yet.

  • The miniatures are incredible, great quality, Ther is only one sculptor or there are many? Who does paints the miniatures?

We have many scupltors working on our project because we have many miniatures to do and schedules to be fulfilled. Among our scupltors we have a guy from your land (Argentina). Talking about how many painters does we have, we count with only Marc, who is the one that is doing all the paint work for us.

  • Time of recommendations. I allways ask the people I interview to give me recommendations (3) games you love, books that seems relevant and music. I really love to know what the guy from the other side likes...

Well, I (Javier) would recommend:

Games
Books
  • Taiko of Eiji Yoshikawa, wich tells the life of Toyotomi Hideyoshi until his rise to power. This is a good way to dive in the feudal world of Japan.
  • 1984, of George Orwell, nothing more to tell.
  • War and Peace, of Tolstoi: Great book about the napoleonic wars for those who have patiance and time.

Discs

  • In the game there are three factions, What do they represent? Are you going to add more factions?

The three factions are the three social classes: Aristocracy (Kuge), Warriors (Buke) and the clerics (Sohei). Now we are going to introduce the traders (Otokodate) and further in time, the pirates: (Wako).

Samurais of the clan Buke (warriors)

  • If I want to start playing the game, the starter box is suitable for all factions?
The starter box is for all factions, but you wold have to add a special unit box, some character and an elite miniature. In that way you would enjoy more the difference between the factions.

  • Is it a skirmish game or a massive units battle game?

The game goes from skirmish to massive battles.

  • At the rule level, is the game related with some other game?

No its fully created by us.
